Brain – Meninges
Anatomy
The meninges surrounding the brain consist of three layers: the dura mater, the arachnoid mater, and the pia mater. The primary function of the meninges and of the cerebrospinal fluid is to protect the central nervous system.
- The dura mater is a sac of thick, durable membrane that envelops the arachnoid mater and surrounds and supports the large scrams channels (dural sinuses) carrying blood from the brain toward the heart.
- The arachnoid mater is a thin, transparent membrane composed of fibrous tissue. It cushions the central nervous system. Like the pia mater, it is covered by flat cells also thought to be impermeable to fluid.
- The pia mater is a very thin membrane composed of fibrous tissue covered on its outer surface by a sheet of flat cells thought to be impermeable to fluid. It is the meningeal envelope that firmly adheres to the surface of the brain and spinal cord, following the brain’s minor contours. The pia mater is pierced by blood vessels to the brain and spinal cord, and its capillaries nourish the brain.

The association & reaction is similar to periosteum.
Relay:
1. Cerebellum (+/-) fronto-medial
2. Cerebral Cortex postsensory (red) area (-/+)
Theme:
1. Attack to the brain or the thoughts
2. Pain, hurt, brutal contact/separation
Thoughts & feelings:
Indignation
- That can’t be true!
- They can’t do that to me!
- I’m outraged/shocked!
META-meaning:
- My thoughts are free.
- I trust my understanding.
- I can choose what information to accept and what to let go.
- My core is well-protected.
Organ
Stress Phase Symptoms:
1. Reinforcement of the fibrous tissue, neurological failures can occur. Possible diagnosis: meningioma.
2. “Cold” Headache/migraine along with decreased bloodflow.
Regeneration Phase Symptoms:
Inflammation featuring different microorganisms like bacteria or virus, which point at the affected relay. Most common symptoms are headache and neck stiffness associated with fever, confusion or altered consciousness, vomiting, and an inability to tolerate light (photophobia) or loud noises (phonophobia).
Possible diagnoses: meningitis, meningo-encephalitis
Biological Meaning:
Tissue reinforcement in stress phase is to protect the brain.
Social
Examples:
- A man challenges his own beliefs on a deep spiritual journey. On the way, he gets meningitis which for him was a near-death-experience he is grateful for. (Klapp)
- A woman overexerting herself with family, business and animal care doesn´t allow herself a rest. After a decision in which she got her way over her husband´s ideas, she gets meningitis. (Klapp)
Additional Information
Meningitis and encephalitis can occur after piercing the skin with foreign information (proteins), as well by insects like ticks, or by injections (vaccinations). These can be seen as physical or chemical attacks to the brain and the system.
Migraine is being recognized as protective mechanism for oxidative stress in the brain http://neurosciencenews.com/migraine-oxidative-stress-7761/
Possible Constellations:
Cerebellum Constellation: reduced sensitivity (physical & emotional),”emotional burnout”
Sensory Constellation: hypersensitivity, amplified perception, sensory hallucinations
Differential Diagnosis:
General deep regeneration or Healing Peak symptoms effected by brain relays including headaches, “warm” migraines, absences, seizures, chills…
Bones of skull or cervical vertebrae (Cerebral Medulla -/+): In regeneration phase there is oedema in the brain relay as well as in the organ tissue, which in the skull can lead to extension or pressure on the meninges with similar symptoms as meningitis.
