Intestinal Lymphatic Tissue
Anatomy
The intestine possesses the largest mass of lymphoid tissue in the human body. There are several lymphatic systems and tissues inside and connected to the intestines:
- the lacteals draining the villiand the connecting submucosal lymphatic network
- the lymph vessels that drain the intestine muscular layer
- the Peyer's patches or aggregated lymphoid nodules of the ileum
- the gut-associated lymphoid tissue (GALT) which is made up of several types of lymphoid tissue storing immune cells such as T and B lymphocytes.
The function is lymphatic drainage for transport and cleansing of body fluid associated with cell renewal and detoxification, as well as maintaining the immunity or autonomous steering of integrity and reparation reactions of the body.Cut through the ileum, Peyer’s patches marked in red: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Peyer%27s_patch.jpg

Cerebral Medulla (-/+) “lumbar area” both sides
Midbrain (+/0) for smooth muscle layer in lymph vessels

Mind
Theme:
Functional integrity and self-worth; learning potential & acceptance
Emotions and Thoughts:
Confusion, shame, self-hate
- I couldn´t defend myself, this hit me in the gut.
- I can´t get over this.
- I can never take care of myself!
- I feel poisoned!
- I couldn´t foresee that this was so bad for me.
META-Meaning:
I love myself and now I can take care of me.
Organ
Stress Phase Symptoms:
The function of the respective tissue decreases which leads to intoxication. A prolonged reaction is marked by insufficiency of lymph vessels and nodes causing lymph stasis. A weakened immune reaction/immune insufficiency results of stress phase in GALT.
Regeneration Phase Symptoms:
The function and tissues are restored and, finally, strengthened. There can be bacterial infection. During regeneration lymphatic tissue swells up, leading to edema which can escalate if at the same time the kidney collecting tubules are active. This may be diagnosed as lymphoma, MALT lymphoma or Hodgkin lymphoma. Especially recurring conflicts can lead to hypertrophy and overshooting expression of immune cells and -reaction, called “auto-immune disease”.
Healing Peak:
Lymphatic spasms
Biological Meaning:
The biological meaning lies in the finished process with strengthened tissues and functions, more or better defined immunity resources and bigger drainage capacity.
Social
Examples:
- Man in financial problems can´t sell his residence for a decent price and feels pressurized by the bank.
- The client feels bloated, “puffed up” and stuck in her life. She has a partner who suffers from psychic disorder, and feels responsible even when she can’t help. When she finally decides to leave him and make major changes in her life, her health and shape improves. (Klapp)
Additional Information
These processes usually happen together with, or are triggered by, “chunk” conflicts in the area of the respective tissue in the digestion tract.
Interactions
Intestinal Mucosa (Brain Stem +/-), with polyps or adenocarcinoma in the stress phase, inflammatory decomposition in the regeneration phase.
Smooth Muscle Layer (Midbrain +/-): smooth muscle often reacts with mucosa, In stress phase functional increase with increased tonus (holding back the chunk) or explosive peristalsis (detoxification diarrhea); leiomyoma growth possible.
Differential Diagnosis:
Lymph oedema can also be caused by unfunctional lymph nodes, surgery of nodes & vessels, intoxication or medication.
