Tonsils
Anatomy
The tonsils (palatine tonsils, adenoids or pharyngeal tonsils) consist of mucosa-associated lymphatic tissue(MALT): a pair of soft tissue masses located at the rear of the throat pharynx). Each tonsil is composed of tissue similar to lymph nodes, covered by pink mucosa. Running through the mucosa of each tonsil are pits, called crypts, which enlarge the mucous surface.
Located at the beginning of both respiratory and digestive tracts, the tonsils are part of the lymphatic system, which help to guard the integrity of the organism by proliferation of lymphocytes into effector and regulator cells controlling recognition and immune response.
Tonsils show most growth in childhood, reaching peak size in puberty, and shrink with age. Their META-function lies in self-definition, the development of resilience and decision-making skills regarding acceptance or resistance to challenges.

Brain
In the Brain Stem, the primeval ring structure is reflected: organ tissue relays with assimilative and digestive functions from oesophagus to small intestines are situated in the right brain stem, while excretory organs from caecum to rectum are relayed in the left brain stem. Medial on both sides are the relays of mouth/pharynx, middle ears and lacrimal glands, as well as the pineal and pituitary glands and the thyroid.
Relay:
1. Brain Stem ( + / – ): Mucosa, crypts
dorso-central, next to Endometrium/Ovar relay
2. Cerebral Medulla (- / + ): Lymphatic tissue
in “neck area”
Mind
Theme:
1. Swallowing (survival)
- Right tonsil: Not being able to get/receive/swallow a chunk/food/situation
- Left tonsil: Not being able to spit out/to get rid of a chunk/food/situation that was tasted and found bad. Handedness irrelevant.
2. Swallowing (self-worth)
Not being able to swallow or to select what is beneficial.
Handed-/wiredness is relevant: Dominant side refers to partner/work, other side to mother/child/inner child
Emotions and Thoughts:
1. (BS) Greed, resistance, disgust
- I need to incorporate that!
- This is too big for me.
- I need to get rid of that now!
2. (CM) Uncertainty, remorse - I can’t swallow that.
- I can’t deal with the situation.
- I´m stuck between a rock and a hard place.
- How could I accept that?
META-Meaning:
- I get all that I need, and don’t bother with the rest.
- Every day, I get to know more friends and resources.
- I can easily decide what is best for me, and communicate that clearly.
- I am well-protected.
Organ
Stress Phase Symptoms:
1. (BS) Increase of mucosa function (secretion, reabsorption) and tissue proliferation as tonsillar hypertrophy or hyperplasia, polyps, adenoids. Enlarged surface through fissures. The growth can cause swallowing impairment and pressure in the throat.
2. (CM) Functional and eventually atrophic reduction of the lymphatic tissue. Immune insufficiency, toxication.
Regeneration Phase Symptoms:
As both tissues of the tonsils work in conjunction, typical symptoms are purulent inflammation of the tonsils (with our without viral or bacterial infection). Symptoms may include red, swollen tonsils, pain when swallowing, high temperature (fever), sore and swollen throat, coughing and white pus-filled spots on the tonsils.
The possible diagnoses include purulent tonsils (tonsillitis / tonsilitis), tonsil abscesses with fungus (tonsillar mycosis) or through mycobacteria (tonsillar tuberculosis) in BS tissue, adenopharyngitis and strep throat (with group A streptococcus) in CM tissue.
Biological Meaning:
Better salivation, more effective gustation and recognition of the chunk in order to easily take it up or remove as undesirable. Enhancing selective and self-protecting properties.
Social
Examples:
- A promised raise or valuable item was not received
- Wanting to eat something, but not being able to get it. Very current conflict for children.
- Nuance: Not getting or expelling the chunk because of competition with brother, friend or colleague.
- Not wanting to eat something (or take a medicine), but being forced to. Very current conflict for children.
- Nuance: not getting or expelling the chunk because of competition with mother or child.
- Man can not sell his car, flat or other valuable item
- Stress triggers related to food that we can not get rid off
- Wife caught her husband looking at porn videos and even after discussing it he watched anyways.
Additional Information
As tonsils have their functional as well as size peak in adolescence, tonsil inflammations belong to the childhood diseases which lead to maturation and developing self-confidence. The overwhelming majority of people recover completely from above symptoms, with or without medication. In 40%, symptoms will resolve in three days, and within one week in 85% of people, regardless of whether streptococcal infection is present or not.
Constellations:
1. Brain Stem Constellation possible: perplexity, lethargy, passiveness, reduced movement. Purpose: new orientation
2. (CM) Decisionmaking-Megalomania possible: manager, broker, quick and effective decisions
Differential Diagnosis:
Lymph Nodes/Lymphatic Tissues of Head and Neck (Cerebral Medulla -/+) with painful swelling in regeneration phase, not related to swallowing but to a functional self-worth or an injustice conflict.
Larynx Mucosa (Cerebral Cortex -/+) Regeneration phase (after speechlessness): hyperesthesia, dry cough, depression possible
Pharyngeal Ducts (Cerebral Cortex -/+) Stress phase (powerlessness): slight dragging pain in sides of the neck; Regeneration phase: cysts in the neck and mediastinum, may be diagnosed as Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.
